Morning Moments in the Royal Grantley Suite
The morning bridal hair preparations started in the upstairs of the beautiful Royal Suite at 5.30am, we started the preparations at this time to ensure the bridal party was ready in plenty of time for their pre wedding photographs. I created 7 hairstyles the morning of the wedding which included the bride, 5 bridesmaids and the mother of the bride. Everyone within the bridal party chose their own hairstyles and came with inspiration of what they would like so we had a full mixture of styles which I personally love because I can get creative. The morning was so lovely, full of girly chats, laughs and iced coffee ready for the day ahead. Anna, the bride was such a lovely person inside and out and I knew from the trial that the morning was going to be such a lovely day to be a part of. She spent a few days at Grantley Hall prior to the wedding day and a few days after to really celebrate being a new married couple, such a gorgeous venue in the heart of yorkshire which she had travelled over 6 hours to enjoy her special day there.
The Trial
At the trial, Anna came to me around 5 months before her wedding day because she tied it into a weekend of wedding prep at the venue. This was quite early to come for a trial and since then, she started to think of other ways she could wear her hair- as you do naturally as time passes and more dress try on’s. She absolutely loved her trial, as did I, however since then she completely changed the neckline of her dress and therefore required a slight change of wedding hair. At the trial we went for a half up half down style with blow out volumous curls, she also had bangs so we framed her face with her bangs. Since then, she grew out her bangs and decided she wanted a more sleeker style to match the dress. We communicated all this prior to the day but on the day I still spent a lot of time checking in with Anna as I was styling to make sure we was on the right path and what she wanted. When I had finished Anna was so happy with her hair and really happy with the last minute change of plan, she looked absolutely amazing. The hairstyle was the true vision of what she wanted and all her bridal party cheered for her hair when she stepped toward the end of the balcony as they all looked at her from downstairs in the suite- it was a moment!
Once Anna was in her dress I checked her hairstyle over and placed her beautiful veil in, right at the top of her head so it could drape down her shoulders- it was truly beautiful and the whole look came together. I left just as everyone was ready to leave and I wished them the most beautiful day. The sun was shining and everyone was ready for the day ahead.
